چکیده

The following two-machine flow-shop scheduling problem is solved. Given jobs are classified into groups, and each machine needs some setup before the first job in a group is started processing. If a job in a group is started its process, all jobs in the group must be finished before a job in another group is processed. Each job may have a specified lag time between machines. Moreover, a series-parallel precedence relation may be specified among groups. Find interand intra-group schedules minimizing the total elapsed times on both machines. The proposed method for this problem is based on a new definition of composite jobs and Sidney's theory about seriesparallel algorithms. The proposed method can also solve a version of the problem where each job has setup times not included in the processing times and a series-parallel precedence relation is specified among jobs in a group.

Single Machine Scheduling Problem with Precedence Constraints and Deteriorating Jobs

This paper considers the single machine scheduling problem with precedence constraints and deteriorating jobs. A mathematical model based on binary integer programming (BIP) is developed. By these precedence constraints, jobs can not start before completion of its all predecessors. The represented model is in two steps, in step one the earliest starting time of each job is computed, then the re...

SINGLE MACHINE DUE DATE ASSIGNMENT SCHEDULING PROBLEM WITH PRECEDENCE CONSTRAINTS AND CONTROLLABLE PROCESSING TIMES IN FUZZY ENVIRONMENT

In this paper, a due date assignment scheduling problem with precedence constraints and controllable processing times in uncertain environment is investigated, in which the basic processing time of each job is assumed to be the symmetric trapezoidal fuzzy number, and the linear resource consumption function is used. The objective is to minimize the crisp possibilistic mean (or expected) value of...

Multi-Objective Unrelated Parallel Machines Scheduling with Sequence-Dependent Setup Times and Precedence Constraints

This paper presents a novel, multi-objective model of a parallel machines scheduling problem that minimizes the number of tardy jobs and total completion time of all jobs. In this model, machines are considered as unrelated parallel units with different speeds. In addition, there is some precedence, relating the jobs with non-identical due dates and their ready times. Sequence-dependent setup t...

‘Strong’-‘Weak’ Precedence in Scheduling: Extended Order Implications

We examine computational complexity implications for scheduling problems with job precedence relations with respect to strong precedence versus weak precedence. We propose a consistent definition of strong precedence for chains, trees, and series parallel graphs. Using modular decomposition for partially ordered sets (posets), we restate and extend past complexity results for chains and trees a...

Algorithm for One Machine Job Sequencing with Precedence Constraints

Consider the problem of sequencing n jobs with general precedence constraints on a single machine to minimize total weighted completion time, which is NP-complete. However some class of problems can be solved in polynomial time, i.e .. the problems whose precedence constraints are trees or series parallel. This paper proposes an O(n4) algorithm for implementing a decomposition procedure due to ...
